Benefits of being an NSC officer *
Being an NSC officer is not an easy task. It truly is a calling of service and commitment.
It consumes a student’s extra time, money and effort to get a job done well.
Nevertheless, being an NSC officer is a great opportunity. It increases one’s self-esteem,
develops one’s leadership abilities, and makes one gain friends. Besides, one may also
learn to manage time, to cope up with pressures, and to improve his communication skills.
It also cultivates a person’s planning abilities and creativity.
Furthermore, though serving as an NSC officer does not have bearing on grades, there are
privileges that one can avail. First, an NSC officer is exempted from paying Membership fee
for P50.00 and the T-shirt fee for P135.00. Second, an officer is allowed to make use of the
standing fund of the organization as long as the expenses are duly liquidated and are
necessary. Third, and I believe most important, is that every active NSC officer is
given due recognition during graduation. Certificates of Commendation may be given as tangible
proofs to NSC officers’ work and dedication.
As for my part, like the SBO Governor, I expect to receive Leadership Award being the
incumbent NSC President.
