Nursing Board Passers Up at 73% *
Nursing Board Passers from Misamis University is up at 73% at the recently held December 2006
Licensure Examination for Nurses at various testing centers around the country.
The 73% Institutional Percentage Rate (IPR) is the highest achieved by the university in
the history of its College of Nursing, where fifty nine (59) new nurses passed, out of
eighty one (81) examinees from MU that took the exam last December 2–3, 2006. All of
these are graduates of the same year.
The recent rating is followed by 57.72% of December 2005, where Ms. Mary Ann F. Engracia
ranked third place, and 50% of June 2006.
MU’s National Percentage Rate (NPR) for December 2006 has also reached 49.099% which
is its third (3rd) highest achieved NPR since June 2004 with 55.74% (1st), where Ms.
Kristine Sy ranked 1st place and 55.34% (2nd) of December 2005.
"The trend is improving, it’s quite a step towards our 100% goal", said Dr. Cynthia S.
Superable, Dean of the College of Nursing. She further added that other measures to
keep the trend increase are being made. Some of them are the in-house reviews, case
presentations to enhance clinical management, and once every week, they conduct series
of tests and rationalizations to improve further the university’s IPR & NPR.
